The next person to send me an ask about how people can legally repost my photos if they want will probably get a really really bitchy reply.
I put that as a request for people to be respectful. Yea they might not listen that is fine I understand. I’m not going to cry if people don’t listen. But I would at least like to try and have a sense of respect and hope that people listen and don’t repost it.
Reblog all you want but I would really prefer for people to not repost them.
You’re not going to cry if they do? Then why are you preemptively whining about it already?
If you’re looking for a sense of respect you’ve come to the wrong place, the Internet is not for you.
I tend to get bitchy when people are ignorant enough to believe that they can find privacy on the Internet. The Internet is a public domain and the laws are the same as they are when you are in a public place. You can’t stop people from taking pictures of you while you’re in public. By law it’s assumed that by being in public you have effectively waived your right to privacy. The laws don’t support your argument to the contrary so respect really has nothing to do with it. This is just you being ignorant about how the Internet works & then expecting everyone else to play by rules that you just invented. As long as people aren’t using your pics for monetary gain or to disseminate your good name, your pics are fair game.
That’s like changing into your swimsuit out in the open on the beach and asking everyone else to be respectful & not look. I’m sorry but if you’re going to change in a public place, you just gave up your right to privacy by doing so. You no longer have the right to tell people not to look or to get mad if they do. If you want privacy to change into a swimsuit than it’s your responsibility to search it out when in public, not everyone else’s to look away.
If you don’t want your pics being passed around on the Internet then don’t post them to the Internet. You can’t have your cake and eat it too, you can’t be public & private all at the same time, it doesn’t work that way. You’re the one who is ignorant of how the Internet works, not the people re-blogging your posts. You have to bend to the rules of the Internet not the other way around. And this post is coming from a person who never reposts anyone’s stuff (outside of this one).
Welcome to the Internet.
